I’m currently obsessed with this album and this song stands out to me.
This week Tuesday will bring the new AFI album titled Crash Love. I have heard the album from beginning to end already and I have to say that it grew on me. First listen I was somewhat annoyed by the fact that their sound had changed again. Second listen I found that their song writing is very strong on this record. It is very ‘pop’ sounding but it may in fact appeal to everyone else who doesn’t already like AFI. Third listen I was singing along unknowingly. The album is really good if you aren’t expecting their old style of music. The songs are solid and major label recording studios sure can make a purty sounding album. It does however sound slightly Over produced most of the time. I don’t know if that comes along with writing these type of songs but it’s almost too clean. There is a lot to be said about recording with lower grade materials. It can give you’re album a unique sound. This sounds like a major label record to me, it’s really pretty but it’s almost as if it’s missing… A soul, for lack of better terminology. If you’re 13 - 19 you’ll love this record. 20 - 30 you’ll probably respect this record but complain about it not being their older “better in your opinion” style. I highly recommend everyone pick up the album though, these boys have worked to be where they are at and you can’t deny that.

Whomever came up with this Birds and Swirls design. Kudos to you.
Just in case that one didn’t sell you.

I can’t for the life of me seem to grasp the paradigm of today that causes such excitement in people when they know what others are doing all of the time. Of course this is in reference to sites like twitter.com, etcetera. Maybe I just don’t care enough about what others are doing because I am too busy. Or maybe it’s my “anything that’s worth doing, is still being done” attitude, though most likely it’s the first one. For whatever reason though I’ve decided to start this blog. So if you want to see and read little posts from time to time that come out of my head, here is where you’ll find them.
